Planet OtterBox: Many will Enter, Few will Win!
Congratulations to OtterBox customer Ernie Bright from Orlando, Fla., this year’s annual Planet OtterBox winner! Working for a company that provides tactical language translation devices to the United States military using Apple® iPods, Ernie’s solution for keeping those devices protected is OtterBox.
“Since we are using regular iPods in a military setting, it was a no brainer that we needed something that could hold up to the different environments our soldiers train and fight in,” he said. “For the iPod® touch we use the Defender Series™ case to provide plenty of ruggedization for the daily pounding these devices receive. If we need something that can be run over by a large military vehicle, we use Armor Series™ cases!”
As the yearly Planet OtterBox winner, Ernie was awarded $1,000. Each month, OtterBox employees vote on the best submission and that winner is offered either a $100 check or $150 OtterBox shopping spree. After a year, the monthly winners are voted on by other OtterBox customers and one submission is chosen.
“Planet OtterBox is a place for our customers from all over the world to post stories and pictures that showcase how they are using our cases in the most extreme, exciting, entertaining or even everyday situations,” said Mike Soderholm, OtterBox Marketing Director. “Since it was started two years ago, the site has gained popularity and developed into an online community of OtterBox users allowing us to connect to our customers in a way that rewards them,” Soderholm said.
